The Bald Revelation

Claudia Carlton is a potential dead-woman-walking, and her room of disguises camouflages more than her bald head. As a 9/11 responder grappling with toxic poisoning, alopecia, anxiety, and the ever-increasing number of fellow responder deaths, Claudia secluded herself four years ago in a lakeside wine community in northcentral New York. From her home, she operates The Finger Lakes Flash, a news and events website. When an anonymous cyber tipster suggests murders are being masked by a clever veil, Claudia is intrigued, and begins investigating. She soon learns danger lurks nearby, and not everyone is a fan of her website, namely Katie Sutton.
Katie is a grieving widow with a story to tell, only no one believes her. After her husband's decomposed remains are found in Buttermilk Creek, Katie posts fiery allegations on The Finger Lakes Flash, suggesting murder and a police cover-up. When her comments are removed, she thinks she knows why: her husband was having an affair with the mayor's wife. Angry and desperate to expose the truth amid allegations of paranoia, Katie also must deal with the lingering shadow of her own scandalous family. When she discovers an additional secret hidden in her basement, everything she thought she knew is upended.
Facing identity conflicts, uncertainty, and increasing danger, Claudia and Katie race against time to uncover the truth and learn the biggest story in the Finger Lakes is masquerading in plain sight, with a killer deadline.
